This popup form can be accessed via the add menu in the top header area of the selected asset view page (e.g. programme, project, sub-project, or change request), as shown in Figure 1. Alternatively you can access the add popup form at the bottom of the Budgets tab at these same view pages, as shown in Figure 2. You may also add a budget or sub-group to an existing budget by selecting the icon indicated in Figure 3 from the actions column menu of the Budgets tab, to create a hierarchy of budgets and sub-groups.
*The reference field is mandatory, but all others are optional. The reference must be unique across the whole project or sub-project.Once you are happy with your entries click the “Add budget” button at the bottom of the form. This will add a new budget or sub-group with the details that you supplied. The new budget can be viewed in a number of locations, including the Budgets tab at the parent asset’s view page, where it will be listed with any single (ungrouped) budget items, as shown in Figure 5. Alternatively you can view the new budget from the parent asset’s dashboard in the Financial Performance dashlet, as shown in Figure 6.

This popup is shown in Figure 4 and is used to add a new budget or sub-group for the selected asset.Figure 4 – Add budget form
This form has the following fields:Parent asset: | This read-only field shows which project, sub-project, budget or sub-group you are adding this budget or sub-group to. |

Reference*: | Use this field to enter a unique reference for your budget or sub-group. If you enter a prefix and end it with one or more zeros, e.g. BG_00, then you can click on the “Find next reference” button to search for the next available reference number with the same prefix and number of digits. |
Description: | You can enter a description of this budget or sub-group here. |
Workflow: | Select the applicable workflow for this budget or sub-group. This field will only be visible if you have access to any Budget workflows. If you do not want any workflow applied to this budget or sub-group then you can select the ‘None’ option. |
Add more: | Select this check box if you’d like to keep the form open to add more budgets or sub-groups after this budget or sub-group has been created. |

Click the “Cancel” button if you no longer want to add a new budget or sub-group.
