This popup form can be accessed via the add menu in the top header area of the test case view page, as shown in Figure 1. Alternatively you can access the add popup form at the bottom of the Test steps tab at this same view page, as shown in Figure 2. You may also add a test step before an already existing test step listed in the Test steps tab via the actions column menu, as indicated in Figure 3.
Once you are happy with your data, click the “Add test step” button at the bottom of the form. This will add the new test step with the information that has been supplied.The new test step can be viewed in the Test steps tab asset listing at the parent asset’s view page, as shown in Figure 5.

This popup is shown in Figure 4 and is used to add a new test step for the selected test case.

This form has the following fields:Parent asset: | These read-only fields show the organisation, programme, project and (if applicable) sub-project levels and the lowest field indicates which asset this test case is being made for. |

Test case: | This read-only field shows which test case this new test step will be added to. |
Step*: | This mandatory field is used to specify a reference for this new step, e.g. TC_001. The reference must be unique within your test case. If you click on the “Find next reference” icon button next to the reference field then the system will find the next available reference number. For example if you enter the reference TS_000 then the system will try TS_001, TS_002 etc until it finds an available value. |
Description: | Enter a description of this new test step here. |
Expected outcome: | Enter the expected outcome of this new test step here. |
Renumber existing: | Select this check box if you’d like to insert this test step in between any existing test steps, and have the existing test steps renumbered accordingly. |
Add more: | Select this check box if you’d like to keep this form open and add more test steps to this test case once the current test step has been created. |

Click the “Cancel” button if you no longer want to add a new test step.
