Recalculate critical path form

This popup form is used to recalculate the critical path for the selected programme, project or task group. Before the critical path is recalculated the critical flags for all of the tasks and milestones of the selected asset are reset. The critical path is calculated by:

• Find all of the tasks/milestones with the latest end dates

 

• Follow all of the predecessor links where the gap is less than 1 hour

 

• If there are no predecessor links with gaps less than one hour then this becomes the starting point of a possible critical path

 

• From all of the possible critical paths select those with the earliest start date

 

• Mark all of the tasks/milestones along the critical path

  The critical paths are calculated for both the estimated schedule as well as the forecast schedule (i.e. based on the actual + estimated effort to complete). The form shows the hierarchy for the selected asset. If you are sure that you want to continue with the recalculation, click on the Recalculate Critical Path button. Click the Cancel button if you do not want to recalculate the critical paths.
